Beware - New Vanish Power Powder Shake and Clean

Just seen an advert for the new "Vanish Power Powder shake and clean" system. Beware! This system is best suited to seagrass and sisal floor coverings which cannot be wet cleaned and also you need the proper equipment to make it effective. Also it will add dust to you environment for weeks. It really is not the best solution for normal carpets, which are best cleaned with a hot water extraction system. Trust me.

Two Emergency Callout in a Week

Tea and Red Wine Stains on Wool Carpet. OMG!

Well what a week so far. Two emergency evening callouts in a week. One for fresh tea stains on an extremely light cream pure wool carpet. Then two days later a callout for red wine on another wool carpet which was already one day old and had dried. Two of the most difficult stains to remove on the most difficult type of carpet to clean.

I always get a bit anxious in these situations as there is no absolute guarantee that they will come out. I really shouldn't worry so much though, because I usually succeed. Although it was a bit touch and go with the tea stain. It didn't respond to the tea and coffee stain removers, fortunately I found a way. Both customers were so grateful that they each gave me a tip one for £10 and one for £5. It's nice to be appreciated and I'm glad to be of service.

Emergency Stain Removal - 30min response time aids success

Well I had a callout today for Magenta Ink stain removal from a canon ink cartridge. This is one of the more difficult stains to remove, but I'm glad to say that it was almost completely removed. So feint you could only see it if you knew exactly where to look. Tough job and very time consuming, but the customer was very happy with the finished result. Phew!

Success, was helped to a large extent by the prompt action of the customer telephoning immediately it had happened. I advised the customer to keep the area damp, but not soaking wet to stop the ink drying out. I was there within 30 minutes and after an hour working gently on the stain so as not to ruin the texture of the loop pile carpet.

Customer's Landlord Was Most Impressed Today.

Cleaning rented offices in the centre of Norwich today for Ingleton Wood.

The landlord of these premises also owns, and works, in the offices next door. He looked through the glass door that divides the two office spaces and was really impressed by the quality of our work on what had been a very severely soiled carpet. He was so impressed that he came through and asked me for a business card.

It had been thought that the company renting these offices were going to have to replace the carpet tiles, but I'm glad to say that it looks like we've saved the day. Also I'm expecting a call from the landlord to ask me quote for carpet cleaning in the rest of the offices. Not exactly sure how big a job this would be, but it is certainly over three floors.

Well, all in a normal days work.

CUSTOMER: I Tried to Remove Wine Stains but it's now Worse and Turned Brown.

Well I'm glad to say that this was another successful outcome on Tuesday.

I suspect that the customer over wet the carpet, whilst trying to remove rose wine stains from her carpet. This probably caused the jute colour to wick up through the carpet causing an even more ugly stain on her pale wool carpet.

With the use of a combination stain removers and a specially formulated bleaching agent, I was able to completely lift the stain from the carpet. I will admit that as the stain was already two days old, it was a bit touch and go, but I got there in the end.

If you should accidentally spill red or rose wine, or tea or coffee on your carpet it is important to get professional help immediately, as once the stain has been allowed to dry, the odds of complete removal is severely reduced. This is why I run a callout service. I can advise you what to do until my arrival and this will contribute to a successful conclusion.

Oh No, Rust Stains on My Carpet!!!

On Tuesday, I successfully removed two old rust stains from a wool carpet. We can't promise to completely remove rust spots from carpets, but it's nice when it works this well.

Question: Can you remove paint from a carpet?

A customer rang me yesterday, desperately trying to save his carpet after spilling a whole can of emulsion paint over it. He spent two days with a Vax machine and loads of 1001 carpet detergent but the white paint was still visible. I'm glad to say that within two-and-a-half hours I had removed the stain despite the fact that it was already two days old, cleaned the rest of his carpet to match, and all for just £45. He was so pleased that he is going to get me back to do his stairs and he has also passed on my details to his Mum with a recommendation.

Tried out the Ninja Carpet Cleaning Machine Today - Pretty Awesome

I had a Ninja hot water extraction machine loaned to me yesterday. With it's twin inline vacuum  motors, the pick-up is quite amazing. I just about put my back out trying to lift in and out of the van though. And as for trying to get it up and downstairs, that is a most precarious operation.

If I bought one of these, I might have to go for the more powerful 400psi machine with a remote control and a 50m hose, which would mean I can do a whole house with the machine still on the ground floor.
I need £2,500 though. Anybody?

DO YOU HAVE A BUSINESS THAT NEEDS COST EFFECTIVE PROMOTING?

Call me today. 01603 700810.
Google AdWords

I can prove it works and can provide statistical analysis from my Google Ad campaigns to prove it.
But if you set it up wrong, it will cost you a fortune.

Case Study
Peter Barber, who is the director or Coastal Cleaning Co in Felixstowe, set-up his own Google AdWords campaign with a friend whose is an IT wizard on building web sites. His campaign cost him £47 in just 3 days, and didn't provide any phone calls.

He rang me is desperation and I immediately paused all his campaigns. I then set about putting together a cost effective campaign for him and he now pays less than a £100 a month and it generates many new jobs and clients for him. He is thrilled to bits. So thrilled was he that he has passed on my details to a marketing company for Clarkes of Walsham, a building merchant and outdoor pursuit business near Bury St Edmunds, and I am now doing the same for them.

YOU WANNA SUCCEED IN BUSINESS?
THEN CALL ME!

Well How About That?

Google AdWords set-up for Clarkes of Walsham for their Barbour Chelsea Quilted Jackets, Fencing Supplies and my latest concoction, a National Campaign for Titan Bunded Oil Tanks, free delivery to all UK Mainland destinations. My oil tanks campaign is hitting the number one spot on google nearly every time. Try a search, but don't click on the link (unless you are looking to buy one) or we'll have to pay for your click. But as the cost of a click is so minimal and these Titan Oil Tanks sell for over a £1,000, it has to be a great ROI (return on investment).

One Very Happy Customer Today

Now I can't guarantee to remove all stains from a carpet, especially Coke Cola or coffee, but today I did just that. Fortunately it was a manmade fibre, which makes my life much easier.

I used an Ashby's Ninja machine today which was kindly loaned to me by Ashby's in Sittingbourne, after my other machine developed a fault. This machine is excellent, yet still manageable enough... just, to get it up stairs if necessary. However, because it has two vacuum motors in series, the pick-up is incredible. If I'd got a second hose, I could have cleaned the upstairs carpets whilst leaving the machine out in the front garden. I shall certainly be buy one of these soon. It will speed up my work flow considerably.

New AdWords Campaign Off to a Flying Start

Just started setting-up a Google AdWords Campaign for my new client. A small local business called Clarkes of Walsham located in Walsham-Le-Willows, near Bury St Edmunds.

They have an online sales web site. The first product I'm promoting for them is a Barbour Chelsea Quilted Jacket.

This is a national AdWords Campaign, so I'm competing against the BIG BOYS. Ooh scary.
However, I've got it to 4th place on Google already for most of the keywords. I'm still looking for those all important top 3 placings though, but already I'm above John Lewis, House of Fraser and Amazon.  How cool is that!!!

AND I still have some new tricks up my sleeve. Yeah, bring it on!

Another Trip to Sittingbourne Required

Well looks like I'm going down to Sittingbourne again shortly. The spray pump has packed up on me again! That's the second time since I had the machine serviced and PAT tested in December. Fortunately I have a spare machine so I can still complete today's job to a very high standard.

Two New Jobs in Today

Two new jobs in today. One to clean carpets in the apartment above where I am now, plus a new job resulting from my Google Adwords Campaign. I also had two other enquiries and I am just waiting hear back.

Second Job Today For Emma Parker Apartments

Emma Parker must have been pleased with the carpet cleaning I did for her on Monday. She has asked me back to do the apartment above. That's two flights of stairs I now have to climb with all me gear. Ho-hum. Pleased to be of service.

All Good Stuff

Well I met the team from Clarks of Walsham-Le-Willows yesterday. It's all very positive. Really looking forward to helping out this local family business with their internet presence for their new web site at http://www.clarkesofwalsham.co.uk. They have a great range of fencing and gates including made-to-measure. I might have one myself as my garden gate is falling to pieces now. Exciting challenges ahead.

Exciting Meeting Set-up For Tomorrow

I have a meeting tomorrow with a new client.

The client and I are both very excited about this new project and I'm very much looking forward to the challenges that it is going to throw up. Can't say too much yet though, but it will be profitable for both of our businesses, especially their's I'm hoping, as that is what this is all about.

I'm just glad to be able to help and save them from the rogues out there, of which there are plenty and are only too willing to prey on small businesses like ours.

New Client Today in the Holiday Rentals Business

Had a new client today in the holiday apartments business. First carpet cleaning job completed for her today. A very nice holiday/short term lease apartment with 2 bedrooms in the centre of Norwich. Very close to the Maidshead Hotel. Has it's own off road parking space too. I met the two couples in the apartment above and they have had a lovely stay too. They are hoping that their AGM for next year is also held in Norwich so that they can stay there again. That's nice.

A Marketing Company Wants My Help With AdWords

Yesterday, through a recommendation from one of my AdWords clients, I was actually approached by a marketing company to take a look at one of their customers web sites with a view to attracting more traffic to their site, which is only a few months old.

Their client already has nearly a 100 employees so I will have to really make an effort to increase  customer awareness and boost their sales figures. No Pressure then.

They have a great looking website, professionally created, so shouldn't be too hard to get internet presence. However, I have already formulated a few tweaks and ideas to help with their SEO and I'm already planning the structure of a Google AdWord campaign for them. I'm looking forward to having a meeting next week to seal the deal, iron out the details and to agree an initial budget. Hopefully.

Who knows, this may be the first of many more of their clients requiring my IT services. Fingers crossed then.

OK, so who's next for a super carpet clean?

So I quiet week this week.

During the school holidays it's quite normal for things to be a little quiet.

Fortunately this gives me a chance to revamp my website and concentrate on improving my own SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).

Also it gives me a chance to concentrate on new AdWords Campaigns for my small business customers looking to increase their turnover through internet advertising.

About Me:

I've done many jobs in my 40 year career which means I have a many and varied set of skills and talents. I'm currently running 3 business initiatives. Obviously there is my main Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Business, Aardvac, which was first started in August 1989 when I was due to leave the Royal Air Force after a 9 year career.

However I also run my Photography Business East Anglia Photo Services, specialising in Wedding Photography, Head Shots and Event Photography. I am a member of School Photo Pro and of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers). I have completed many training courses and seminars related to professional photography and I am continually upgrading my equipment.

As an approved electrician in my early years I can also do electrical work and install security systems such as intruder alarms and CCTV systems for my clients.

Finally, I am have some success running Google AdWords campaigns for local businesses. I started doing this after realising that there are so many companies out there ready to rip you off for  looking after you SEO and AdWords campaigns. Expensive lessons learned. But now I am better and more successful at running my own AdWords campaigns than any of the other rogue/cowboy companies out there, I chose to start offering this service to other small business owners to protect them from the same fate, but also as a good diverse business venture to keep me going during the quiet months. I have already had a number of calls from recommendations, so it looks like I shall have a new business to manage and more in line with my IT background.

In my spare time I like to do wildlife photography, acting and directing, manage my allotment and dream of retiring in the next few years to pursue all these hobbies.
